Authors: Assis, André Luis Marques de
Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to analyze the presentation of the political figure of the candidate Donald Trump in the pages of Veja magazine during the US presidential campaign of 2016. The analysis (which has as a temporal cut the period that goes from the acclamation of Trump as a Republican candidate in July 2016 until his inauguration as the 45th US president in January 2017), was developed from the construction of categorical assemblages, method of analysis taught by Bardin (1977) and justified by the need to fill a in the area of history that has not yet dealt with this issue. The work is divided into three chapters: the first is devoted to a contextualization of the 2016 US presidential election based on an analysis of the recent socio-political history of the United States, the second examines how formation and consolidation took place of Veja magazine in the Brazilian publishing market (as well as the political positioning of the same), and the third brings an analysis of the main categorical assemblages extracted from the corpus of the research, as well as a mapping of the key aspects of the magazine content about the analyzed character. The findings indicate that Donald Trump was presented negatively on the pages of Veja magazine, and New Yorker was treated as a threat not only to the world order but also to globalization and modernity and to the American democratic regime.</summary>

In this sense, a history of how the parliamentary formula worked during the first phase of the João Goulart government (1961 and 1963) is presented. Followed an emphasis of the political actors and the political-partisan articulations that acted in the anticipation and the campaign of the plebiscite, is of favorable or opposite form. With this aim, the present paper analyzes the press of the time, in the case of the newspaper Gazeta do Sul, between August of 1961 and January of 1963, trying to emphasize its political positions and evidencing the "voices" that had more resonance in their publications.
