(Des)Caminhos da imigração haitiana no Rio Grande do Sul : implicações culturais e sociais nos processos de mudança de vida.

Abstract

By proposing a reflection against the issue of immigration, we have to consider the differents implications that are related to this context, because it is an issue that involves many formative and discursive aspects related to social, cultural, historical and natural factors. We can see that the distance and miss the family, the difficulties to fit in established social standards, prejudice, hope that there might be a better life are some of the stressors in the lives of immigrants. Under this assumption, the major objective of this research is to understand what the motivations are and the effects that these changes produces in the lives of Haitian immigrants, who arrived in the Taquari Valley between the years of 2013 and 2015. It is justified by the growing demand in Brazil as a country of preference for these immigrants. Thinking about the singularity of the persons and the field in which they are inserted, it is a qualitative research, the sample will include 4 Haitian immigrants, regardless of sex, who understand and speak Portuguese and have more than 18 years. For this methodology will be used narrative interviews, with a non-structural form which encourage the subject to speak with deepening on specific aspects, from which emerge stories of life, both the subject and the context in which it appears. For the analysis of the data will be used the method of content analysis. This way, four categories were studied: "We are fruits of immigration: Haitians in the territory of German culture and the lack of racism"; "Education, Labor and identification processes: building a place in Brazil?" and "Brazil: a country of all and for all?"
