Rede de suporte social de famílias de bebês prematuros.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to identify the profile of hospitalized families who have had premature babies; to know the network and social support of these, to describe the actions carried out by the network and thus propose nursing care strategies with the family and the network. It is a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory research. The subjects were five families living in the city of Santa Cruz do Sul, egress from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (UTI in Portuguese), from the Public Health Network of the Municipality. Data collection was based on a semi-structured interview. The analysis was carried out from association maps of ideas. The results indicate that the five families interviewed have a social support network where the family is actively involved in the care of the premature baby, being related to emotional/affective support, as well as support in domestic activities. Therefore it can be concluded that families have all the necessary support, both family as nursing, in which they place total trust.
