O olhar feminino contemporâneo acerca do casamento e da maternidade : um discurso intrinsecamente feminino.

Abstract

The female submission and the lack of power to decide about her desires and priorities have lasted for a long time, the woman was reprimanded and forced to exercise a social function limited to marriage and maternity, justifying her remaining isolated in the home environment. But what about now, in the present day, where women have already conquered several rights and continue to fight for space, respect, and equality. What meaning do single, childless women give to the possibilities of marriage and maternity? This study relied on a semi-structured interview, directed to six women, and sought to understand how women currently perceive and mean the possibilities of marriage and maternity. For a better discussion of the data found in this research, all the interviewees' speeches were considered, and from these speeches, two categories emerged: the woman who carves her path and an old priority that has become a contemporary option.
