Data do documento: 2021
E7) e An Apple Red as Blood (Uma maçã vermelha como o sangue ?
Resumo em outro idioma: The American tele series Once Upon a Time (2011) addresses, in their narratives, fairy tales and wonderful tales, which constitute world folklore and They are shown under a new focus. According to the creators of this entertainment, Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, Once Upon a Time aims to fill the gaps left in the composition of the classic stories of literature, which raised doubts in the reader/listener public. In the chosen episodes, the figuration of the character Regina will be analyzed in a family context. For this, the emergence of families and the patriarchal culture inserted in its constitution will be observed; the queen's performance on gender issues will be compared in different literary works of Snow White, such Snow White (1812) and the first adaptation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1819), from the Grimm brothers, as well as the television animation referring to the literary work, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) and two more recent cinematographic works, Snow White (2001) and Mirror, Mirror (2012).In Once Upon a Time, eight episodes were chosen, constant in different seasons, such as: the series pilot; in the first season, the episodes The Stable Boy (E18), Fruit of the Poisonous Tree (E11), The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter (E7) and An Apple Red as Blood (E21); in the fourth season, Mother (E21); in the third season, Save Henry (E9) and, in the fifth season, Only you (E22). In order for the reader to understand the narrative in a logical sequence, the order of the seasons, as well as their respective episodes, were arranged in a different order, compared to the one presented in the tele series. In the sequence proposed for the analysis, the family context, the life trajectory and the character's choices, as a woman, active of old and new times will be addressed.Said character is Snow White’s stepmother. Revisiting the Snow White tales, by the Grimm brothers (1812, 1819), as well as films that address the aforementioned narrative and the tele series, we will observe the possible changes in the queen character’s performance with her stepdaughter, in a time period corresponding to two centuries ago. In the tele series, Regina is a symbol of the leading woman of new times. Independent, Mayor of Storybrooke City, an adoptive mother. Otherwise, it is necessary to investigate whether, behind the representation of a new Evil Queen, patriarchal precepts are worshiped or abolished by the character in the tele series. Based on this issue, the female myth will be revisited based on feminist criticism. With Simone de Beauvoir (1967, 1970), the solidification of the structuring culture of patriarchy will be discussed, mainly through family education. In the family, the social role assigned to women is learned. With Betty Friedan (1971) there is a dialogue about the construction of the female myth in the social imaginary, as well as the consequences of this process of stereotyping the annulment of the female personality. With Judith Butler (2003), the construction of gender is problematized, not as a determining factor of identity, but as a performative act. With Rita Terezinha Schmidt (2012), it is observed that practices and discourses separate men and women into categories of identity, in binomial expressions, based on the manifestation of sexed bodies. With Joan Scott (2002), it is understood that gender, as a category of analysis, serves gender relations as power relations, constituting a historical, cultural and social process, ratified for millennia by the patriarchal system. As a hypothesis, it is observed that, voluntarily or involuntarily, the female figure is presented ratifying the social precepts established by the patriarchy, appearing as a mother and a wife, functions associated with the female myth, regardless of time.
