dc.description.abstract	This monographic work has as its theme the social function of union entities, and aims to discuss the general history as well as the first associations, the structure of unions in Brazil, its general and historical aspects, the non-ratification of Convention 87 of the International Labor Organization in the Brazilian legal system, the various principles that govern union entities, anti-union behavior, the right to strike, as well as the social function of unions. In this context, the problem to be faced is to ask what is the true role of unions in defending their classes, as well as their achievements throughout history. To accomplish this task, the deductive method is used, with bibliographical research and a case study. Finally, it can be said that the struggles and conquests waged throughout history were of paramount importance for today to have minimum working conditions for the working class.	pt_BR

dc.description.resumo	O presente trabalho monográfico possui como tema a função social das entidades sindicais, e tem como objetivo discorrer acerca da história geral bem como surgiram as primeiras associações, a estrutura dos sindicatos no Brasil, seus aspectos gerais e históricos, a não ratificação da Convenção 87 da Organização Internacional do Trabalho no ordenamento jurídico brasileiro, os diversos princípios que regem as entidades sindicais, as condutas antissindicais, o direito de greve, bem como a função social dos sindicatos. Nesse contexto, a problemática a ser enfrentada consiste em indagar qual o verdadeiro papel dos sindicatos na defesa de suas classes, bem como as suas conquistas ao longo da história. Para dar conta dessa tarefa, utiliza-se o método dedutivo, com pesquisas bibliográficas e estudo de caso. Por fim, pode-se afirmar que as lutas e conquistas travadas ao longo da história foram de suma importância para que se tenha hoje condições mínimas de trabalho para a classe obreira.	pt_BR
