Repertórios educativos do movimento sindical da agricultura familiar : uma análise a partir do Sindicato dos Trabalhadores Agricultores Familiares de Santa Cruz do Sul, Sinimbu, Vale do Sol e Herveiras.

Abstract

This master's dissertation investigates the repertoires of educational actions developed in the family farming union movement, focusing on the actions of the Family Farm Workers Union of Santa Cruz do Sul, Sinimbu, Vale do Sol and Herveiras. The study explores how educational projects, pedagogical concepts, educational strategies and the subjects in education are defined and redefined throughout the different phases of mobilization and struggles of the union movement. The rural union movement, especially that linked to family farming in Brazil, aims to organize, mobilize and defend the interests of various segments of rural workers, including men, women, LGTQIAP+ people and other groups with different identities and ways of life. The study highlights that union actions, in addition to political mobilization, also have an educational character, providing sociopolitical training to workers and their communities. The dissertation also addresses how the trade union movement, with its multi-scale structure (unions, federations and confederations), facilitates the mobilization of different social groups, with special emphasis on rural youth, who develop training and mobilization agendas at various organizational scales. The research is based on the idea that education in the countryside is not limited to formal schooling, but is present in all forms of socialization and educational practices experienced by workers in the trade union context. Three main directions are addressed: 1) the historicity of union activity as a space for education, 2) the impact of the leading role of women and young people in union actions and in the construction of education in the countryside, and 3) the relationship of the union movement with regional development, analyzing how social struggles are territorialized and how the movement influences the educational dynamics in family farming. The methodology adopted is based on historical materialism, using a survey of documents and interviews with union leaders and rural workers. The dissertation is divided into two parts: the first, theoretical, deals with CONTAG and the union movement in rural areas, education in the countryside and the educational repertoires of the movement; and the second, empirical, analyzes the Unions of Santa Cruz do Sul, Sinimbu, Vale do Sol and Herveiras, the mobilization cycles and the educational repertoires in the different phases of the movement, culminating in the analysis of collective mobilization and the educational repertoires in the National Festival of Rural Youth.
