Trabalho e educação permanente no contexto da enfermagem : um contínuo questionamento.

Abstract

The present investigation had as its aims to make a relation between the principles of the libertarian education and the work in health. We noticed that the theoretical - practical domain provides respect and support to the multiprofessional team, academic team, and mainly to the patients, who are the essence of our work. A proposal that wakes up the interest for the education inside the work and outside of it, that shows to the worker the importance of this qualification for his/her personal and professional development, integrating him/her in the institutional context, making him/her a committed citizen with the function that is carried out inside the company/hospital. In that context, we ask: In what way the professional training, makes possible the improvement of the quality of health assistance given to users of a unit of Hospitalar Internment of Unified Health System (SUS)? Can the nursing technicians become agents of their own formation? How does the permanent education interfere in the health assistance? We aim to analyze the influence of the professional training in the improvement of the quality of health assistance given to users of a unit of Hospitalar Internment of Unified Health System (SUS). From that goal we searched to establish a diagnosis of the quality of the assistance to the current health in a SUS unit of internment of a Hospital of Santa Cruz do Sul. We also aim to instigate the doubt and the research and to establish moments of discussion, in which can be articulated the matters of the knowledge, practical-technical competences and practical, ethical, and moral questionings. Searching for agreements towards the patient care; comparing the assistance to the health before and after the moments of discussion. The experience adopted as methodology the research-action, transforming it in a pedagogic instrument in the work. We tried to stimulate the technicians in nursing so that they could raise the themes to be discussed, researched and exposed by the same ones to the big group of co-workers of an unit of internment SUS of the referred hospital. The research took place monthly, in six meetings, asking the subjects to ally the studied theory to the experience lived in their work field. A questionnaire was applied with open and closed questions analyzing the work process – actual learning, previous to the meetings and after them, evaluating the executed proposal. Once the group was small, the population and the sampling of this research had same numbers. We started from the point that the participation and the cooperation can offer means to the researcher and the participant group, of answering with larger efficiency the difficulties of the situation in which they are with the objective of a transforming, emancipating action. We search, in this way, a safe and excellent attendance to the client. This kind of attendance only can be executed when the professionals are qualified for that. At the end of the work we realized how people need freedom to think and act, but that culturally they are still alienated, adjusted, restricted to a thought dominated by the hierarchy constituted by a boss and a subordinated, in which the first one is the one who thinks about what to accomplish and the second one executes. It is still missing a lot for the education to be assimilated by the worker as his/her only commitment. We searched to promote the participation, the cooperation, and the autonomy of the worker in health, inspired on the work of Paulo Freire.
