Authors: Dutra, Eduarda Trindade Abstract: Background: Noninvasive ventilation (NIV) is widely used in neonatal intensive care units; however, the effects of physiotherapy on hemodynamic parameters in neonates remain poorly understood. Objective: To evaluate the effects of physiotherapy on the hemodynamic parameters of neonates undergoing noninvasive ventilation. Methods: This was a cross-sectional, observational, quantitative, and descriptive study conducted in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Thirteen neonates receiving noninvasive ventilation (NIV) underwent either isolated respiratory physiotherapy or respiratory physiotherapy associated with motor physiotherapy. Heart rate, respiratory rate, peripheral oxygen saturation, blood pressure, and the Silverman-Andersen Score were assessed before and after the interventions. Results: A significant increase in peripheral oxygen saturation and a reduction in respiratory distress were observed, with no significant changes in heart rate or blood pressure. Neonates who underwent combined respiratory and motor physiotherapy showed a tendency toward more pronounced results, particularly regarding reductions in respiratory rate and respiratory distress. Conclusion: Physiotherapy promotes beneficial effects on the clinical and hemodynamic parameters of neonates undergoing NIV, improving oxygenation and respiratory pattern without compromising clinical stability. However, studies with larger samples and more clinically homogeneous groups are needed to confirm these findings.

Authors: Azambuja, Pedro Arthur Goettems Abstract: The role of the physiotherapist encompasses working on the athlete's physical condition—including injury prevention and rehabilitation—as well as sharing information with sports organizations. This study discusses the relevance of physiotherapeutic intervention focused on the shoulder complex, a region affected by 8% to 13% of sports injuries due to high exposure and biomechanical overload. Consequently, this study aims to analyze the primary physiotherapeutic interventions used for preventing and rehabilitating shoulder injuries in athletes, highlighting assessment methods and key therapeutic strategies. It is a systematic review based on an analysis of scientific studies related to sports physiotherapy, functional shoulder assessment, and therapeutic approaches applied to athletes. Physiotherapeutic care begins with a detailed patient history, utilizing orthopedic tests and imaging, alongside physical tests and questionnaires. Emphasis is placed on analyzing the kinetic chain and the specific sports movement, as these aspects are crucial for identifying dysfunctions that may impact athletic performance. Regarding the therapeutic aspect, the study addresses the efficacy and application of kinesiotherapy. It concludes that the physiotherapist's presence is indispensable for maintaining athlete health, ensuring not only injury recovery but also the optimization of physical capacity for high-level performance and the prevention of future injuries.
