Authors: Ferreira, Guilherme
Abstract: Healthcare waste management presents critical challenges for public health and environmental sustainability, particularly in contexts where improper disposal practices, such as syringes and expired medications, have severe environmental and collective health impacts. Despite clear regulations, effective implementation of these guidelines faces barriers related to the lack of technical knowledge and engagement from both healthcare professionals and the general population. To mitigate this problem, the goal is to develop a digital platform that integrates a conversational agent, named Dóris®, and gamification elements, promoting practical and interactive education on healthcare waste management. The platform includes educational games, interactive articles, and quizzes, offering dynamic learning with content personalization through the virtual agent Dóris®, who guides users in real time. Validation conducted with 25 participants from various professional categories, such as nurses, radiology technicians, and cleaning professionals, demonstrated high efficacy in knowledge retention and adherence to proper disposal practices. The results show that integrating artificial intelligence and gamification contributes not only to learning but also promotes sustainable behavioral changes, making waste management an accessible and impactful practice on a large scale. This innovative solution stands out for its ability to combine advanced technology and interactive methods to transform contemporary challenges into opportunities for environmental education and sustainability.

Abstract: This dissertation aimed to conduct a diagnostic analysis of companies within the Textile Local Productive Arrangement (APL) of Erechim, utilizing the concepts of Value Stream Mapping (VSM) variations in an integrated manner. The objective was to facilitate the application of VSM, making processes more sustainable and generating improvement opportunities for companies in the textile sector. To achieve this, systematic literature reviews were conducted to identify the combinations of VSM with other tools and the existing variations of the traditional model. Subsequently, a diagnostic study was carried out with companies from the Erechim APL to assess their level of adherence to VSM variations. The study highlighted that combining VSM with Life Cycle Analysis, QFD, Fuzzy TOPSIS, and cost analysis, among other tools, demonstrated its capacity to identify bottlenecks and comprehensively reduce waste. Additionally, improvements in sustainability indicators, cycle time reduction, cost minimization, layout optimization, and process digitalization were observed as key benefits achieved. Based on this analysis, a framework entitled Integrated Value Stream Mapping (IVSM) was structured, designed for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), integrating the objectives of these tools with conventional VSM. The review on VSM variations identified multiple adaptations of the traditional model, emphasizing that Sustainable Value Stream Mapping (Sus-VSM) is predominant across the four continents studied. Furthermore, the main indicators employed in these variations were analyzed, leading to the proposal of an integrated VSM model applicable to SMEs in the textile sector, combining concepts and metrics from five VSM variations. Finally, the diagnostic study revealed distinct levels of adherence to VSM variations, with Ergonomic Value Stream Mapping (Ergo-VSM) standing out, being adopted by 77% of companies. This finding indicates a significant emphasis on improving ergonomics in production processes, occupational health, and productivity enhancement. Conversely, environmental sustainability aspects showed a lower level of adherence, around 38%. Regarding digitalization, the study identified a gap that can be addressed to foster business growth. Additionally, an integrated VSM model was proposed for application in small and medium-sized enterprises in the textile sector. The model is composed of variations used as the foundation for diagnostic analysis.

Abstract: This search investigates the challenges and opportunities faced by teachers at a technical school of SENAI in light of the demands of Education 5.0, with an emphasis on continuing education, the use of digital technologies, and the adoption of active methodologies. This qualitative research employed a questionnaire administered to 18 teachers from two school units, aiming to understand their perceptions, pedagogical practices, and strategies in response to contemporary technological and social transformations. Data were analyzed using a descriptive and interpretative approach, based on spreadsheets generated from Google Forms and complemented by word clouds representative of the participants' responses. The results revealed a context marked by tension between the recognition of the importance of pedagogical innovation and the limitations faced in the school routine, such as lack of time, scarcity of resources, and constant curriculum changes. Nevertheless, teachers showed a willingness to adapt their practices, personalize teaching, integrate technologies, and adopt formative and collaborative assessment strategies. Among the observed advancements, the use of constructive feedback, diagnostic assessments, active methodologies, and efforts to contextualize content by connecting theory and practice stand out. The study concludes that, despite structural and institutional challenges, there is a significant movement among teachers toward pedagogical practices more aligned with Education 5.0, based on flexibility, creativity, and a commitment to holistic student development. This research contributes to expanding the debate on teacher education in technical contexts and proposes possible pathways toward a more innovative, inclusive, and future-oriented school.
