Abstract: A teaching institution in its process of continuous improvement and for the good performance of the activities of its students, teachers and employees, needs to identify its flaws and improve them in its teaching-learning process. Therefore, this work aims to develop and propose improvements in the methodology, of a scientific study model, which will assist in the area of Engineering education, aiming at new practices of continuous improvement and a standardization of testing procedures, as well as in the planning of purchase of inputs, for
the teaching laboratories of the Civil Engineering area of the Universidade de Santa Cruz do Sul - UNISC. For this, use of Lean Manufacturing tools will be done.

Abstract: Melasma is a chronic and recurrent esthetics dysfunction caused by the increase of melanin. It is characterized by brownish macules varying from light to dark brown. It is presented as a hyperpigmentation disorder, located bilaterally and symmetrically on the face, in a central facial, malar and mandibular location. It is prevalent in females, specially after the childbearing age or during pregnancy. It mainly affects individuals with higher phototypes according to the Fitzpatrick’s scale and those that have a higher sun exposure throughout the years. It is known that this is a condition related to different factors, such as the use of oral contraceptive, genetic factors, hormonal alterations, and the use of medications for different treatment approaches. Cysteamine is a known as a depigmenting agent for topic use that promotes the clearing and removal of hyperpigmentation, by decreasing the activity of Tyrosinase 1 and Tyrosinase 2, of peroxidase, in addition of promoting the chelation of copper and iron ions and also by increasing the synthesis of intracellular glutathione. The objective of this experimental and observational study was to evaluate the efficacy of the daily home use of the topic cysteamine 5% emulsion, in human volunteers of different phototypes that presented epidermal melasma on the facial region. This study was conducted at the laboratories of the Graduate Program in Esthetics and Cosmetology of the University of Santa Cruz do Sul (UNISC), three female volunteers met the inclusion criteria, and were able to participate after the approval of the Ethics Committee, under the number 3.776.023. The three volunteers received a kit containing the cysteamine 5% emulsion, glycerin soap and the photoprotector SPF 30. The subjects underwent a 24 weeks treatment. The results were evaluated by the clinical diagnosis of the photographical images, by the MASI and MELASQoL method, before and after the purposed protocol. The results obtained, when observing the photos and by using the Wood’s lamp, showed that volunteer 1 and volunteer 2 presented a clearing and uniformization of the hyperpigmented area. However, this result was not observed for the volunteer 3. The quantitative evaluation did not show a significant decrease in the MASI values for the three volunteers. When analyzing the impact in the quality of life, the MELASQoL questionnaire showed that there was a significant increase for volunteer 1 and volunteer 2, indicating a positive impact of the adopted protocol. When evaluating the results for volunteer 3, since there was no significant evolution, this dysfunction continues to negatively impact her quality of life.

Title: Revisão sobre a utilização da técnica de microagulhamento em tratamento de cicatrizes atróficas de acne.
Authors: Kenne, Edilaine Leimann
Abstract: Acne is a very common skin disease that can result in permanent scarring, affecting the individual's quality of life. Ablative procedures aimed at stimulating and remodeling collagen have been advocated by dermatology for a long time, however there is currently a tendency towards less invasive procedures, such as microneedling. Therefore, the objective of this study was to carry out a review of the scientific literature, in order to seek and evaluate the results of treatments of atrophic acne scars, using the microneedling technique. The literature review was carried out through the CAPES, Scielo and Pubmed databases. A total of 40 manuscripts were used in Portuguese and English, excluding inaccessible articles or those that were not of facial applicability. It is known that beauty or aesthetics play an important role in a person's life, and acne scars are considered skin conditions that are difficult to treat, causing discomfort and consequently the desire to obtain a more beautiful skin. Thus, microneedling is a safe and effective treatment option according to the articles consulted. In view of the literature review carried out, it can be concluded that microneedling is considered a minimally invasive technique, practically painless, simple, low cost and quite effective, especially when compared to other techniques, in addition to being safe for all skin phototypes. With the intense growth of the beauty market and the search for treatments that alleviate aesthetic problems in less downtime, less aggressive and with less consequences for tissues, microneedling has been gaining prominence as a great option for acne scar treatments, and can be combined or not with other techniques.

Abstract: Climacteric is a natural event that is inevitable in women’s life, which is the transition from the reproductive to the non-reproductive phase, in which the cyclic production of ovarian hormones gradually decreases and menstrual cycles become irregular, until they cease completely. In addition, at this phase, important pfysical and psychological changes appear that impair the woman’s quality of life and must be prevented or treated. With the advancement of integrative and complementary practices, we have the aromatherapy contribution through essential oils, which are the most concentrated forms of vegetable energy, which ones, through the diversity of its active principles, act in the body to restore irregularities at its various levels. Therefore, we come to reinforce considerations regarding the applicability of these compounds in the balance of symptoms manifested in climacteric.
