Abstract: The relationship between health and work is complex, and can generate both satisfaction and illness. Understanding the factors that influence this dynamic is essential to analyze the impacts of work on worker health. Psychosocial risks, related to effort and perceived rewards, shape the interaction between worker and work environment, influencing well-being and the processes of physical and mental illness. In this context, this master's research, from the Postgraduate Program in Psychology at the University of Santa Cruz do Sul (UNISC), had the general objective of identifying the psychosocial risk and protective factors for the mental health of workers who perform activities at height and in confined spaces in a company in Rio Grande do Sul. This is an intervention research with a qualitative and quantitative approach, developed between February and April 2025, in a company located in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre/RS. The methodological approach adopted is anchored in the theoretical assumptions of the Psychodynamics of Work, based on the studies of Dejours (1992, 2004a), which served as the central reference for conducting the investigation. Three instruments were used for data collection: a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Psychosocial Risk Assessment Protocol at Work (PROART), both applied collectively, and semi-structured interviews conducted individually. One hundred and two workers who perform activities at height or in confined spaces participated, all integrating the quantitative stage, of whom eight also participated in the qualitative stage. After this stage, the results were organized into categories of analysis. The quantitative data, obtained through the questionnaire, were grouped into sociodemographic data, activity risks, and leisure activities. The PROART instrument was structured into four categories: Work Organization, Management Styles, Indicators of Suffering at Work, and Work-Related Injuries. The qualitative results, obtained through interviews, were organized into the following categories: Work Organization, Working Conditions, Relationship with Colleagues and Managers, Work-Family Balance, Meaning of Work, Experiences of Pleasure, Strategies for Mediating Suffering, and Health-Work Relationship. The integrated data analysis reveals a management model in transition, combining advances towards participatory practices with the persistence of hierarchical and centralizing traits. Workers experience an ambiguous daily life, marked by both suffering and pleasure in their work. Psychosocial risk factors were identified, such as work overload, lack of recognition, and staff shortages, as well as protective factors such as cooperation, support among colleagues, and meaning in work. The results point to the need for organizational policies that promote healthier, more participatory, and humanized environments. As a technical product, a Guide to Mapping Risk and Protective Factors for Workers' Mental Health was developed from the research data. This material proposes a tool for mapping and developing an action plan to minimize or eliminate psychosocial risks in the workplace, aiming to promote safer and healthier work environments. Finally, it concludes that the study's relevance goes beyond the analysis of physical risks, highlighting the impacts of organizational and working conditions on mental health. It seeks to understand how management style and psychosocial factors influence the suffering and well being of workers. Furthermore, it emphasizes the importance of further research into health protection factors, aiming to promote healthier, more balanced, and productive work environments.</description>

Abstract: Given the increasing unpredictability of life's course, and facing an educational system and a labor market that have failed to guarantee the fulfillment of aspirations due to structural precariousness and a lack of objective opportunities, disbelief, uncertainty, and fear regarding the future are experienced by a large portion of young people worldwide. Therefore, it is pertinent to question what meanings are attributed to school and work by young people in secondary education. To this end, this study adheres to the Research Line in Contemporary Clinical Practices, Public Policies, and Mental Health, as it sought to understand the meanings attributed by young people to school and work. Furthermore, semi-structured interviews were conducted, followed by a feedback session with young people aged 15 to 16 enrolled in secondary education at the Santa Teresa de Villa Educational Institution in the Chorrillos district of Lima, Peru. This research/intervention is characterized as an exploratory study with a qualitative approach. The data analysis utilized the principles of Social Constructionism as proposed by Mary Jane Spink. Based on this analysis, the card game "Tunkiando" was created as a technical product derived from the study's results, with the central objective of promoting dialogue and reflection on the meanings attributed by young people to school and work. This study sought to give visibility to being/being in school, analyzing the narratives linked to the experiences of young people in secondary education, and how these narratives produce certain effects on their perspectives on the future and work.</description>

Abstract: The inclusion of Indigenous women in higher education represents a significant social achievement, but one still marked by challenges related to gender coloniality and intercultural intersections. This research, linked to the Professional Master's Program in Psychology at the University of Santa Cruz do Sul (UNISC), falls within the Area of Concentration in Mental Health and Social Practices and the Research Line in Social Practices, Organizations and Culture, articulating subjective, social, and institutional dimensions of care in the academic context. The study aimed to understand the academic, cultural, and family experiences of Indigenous mothers regularly enrolled in undergraduate or graduate courses at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), emphasizing how mothering practices, interculturality, and mental health intersect in the university experience. A qualitative approach was adopted, with ethnographic and collaborative inspiration, grounded in Freirean principles of dialogue and horizontality, which allowed for a sensitive and in-depth listening to the experiences of these women. Two Indigenous mothers (Parintintim and Xokleng) participated in the study, agreeing to participate based on their availability and active connection with the university. Data collection occurred through field notes compiled throughout the investigative process, direct observation in living and study spaces, and the holding of Culture Circles, which fostered the sharing of knowledge, the strengthening of support networks, and the collective construction of meaning. The data analysis, conducted through the identification of units of meaning in the transcripts of the Culture Circles and using an interpretive qualitative approach, revealed not only the obstacles faced in the university context - such as prejudice, an overload of responsibilities, and cultural invisibility - but also strategies of resistance, solidarity, and shared care present in the narratives of the Indigenous student-mothers. The study highlighted the importance of collaborative mothering, the recognition of cultural specificities, and the formulation of institutional policies for retention that include the presence of children in academic spaces. The technical output resulting from the research consisted of the creation of didactic material in audiovisual format, entitled “Between networks and resistances: voices of indigenous mothers at the university”. Thus, the technical product materializes the professional master's program's commitment to social transformation and the practical applicability of the knowledge produced, by articulating research, the development of intervention tools, and the analysis of social and institutional practices present in organizations and communities in different cultural contexts. It concludes that access to university, in itself, does not guarantee permanence: it is necessary to broaden active listening and concrete actions to transform the academic environment into a space of affection, resistance, and belonging. The research contributed to the strengthening of intercultural knowledge, articulating psychology, education, and mental health, and pointed to paths for positive intergenerational impacts, by promoting the appreciation of indigenous cultures and their own ways of living, caring, and learning.</description>

Abstract: This study investigated the experiences of pleasure and suffering among primary health care (PHC) workers in a municipality in the interior of Tocantins, aiming to promote reflection on mental health at work. The research stemmed from the observation that, despite the strategic importance of these workers in the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS), their working conditions are frequently marked by overload, precarious employment, and lack of institutional care, factors that have worsened with the Covid-19 pandemic. A Psicodinâmica do Trabalho (PDT) foi adotada como referencial teórico e metodológico para compreender os impactos subjetivos do trabalho na saúde mental desses trabalhadores. Utilizando uma abordagem qualiquantitativa, a pesquisa foi conduzida por meio de uma pesquisa-intervenção, com a aplicação de duas escalas validadas: a Escala de Indicadores de Prazer e Sofrimento e o Self Report Questionnaire, além da realização de grupos focais com trabalhadores da APS. The analysis of the information combined the use of the IRAMUTEQ software (quantitative) with the analysis proposed by Dejours, from the perspective of PDT (qualitative), allowing the identification of subjective aspects related to pleasure and psychic suffering, as well as individual and collective strategies for mediating the work context (defensive, coping, and resistance). The results revealed an ambivalence in professional experiences: on the one hand, the pleasure linked to recognition, the bond with users, and the social meaning of the work; on the other hand, the suffering related to the scarcity of resources, the accumulation of functions, the absence of institutional recognition, and the lack of support from users regarding the emotional demands of the workers themselves. As for mediation strategies, these were observed as attempts to maintain psychological balance in the face of adversity. Based on the intervention research, a technical product in the form of a card game was developed, with a pedagogical and playful function, aimed at stimulating reflections on mental health at work among primary health care workers. Finally, the work highlights the importance of recognizing psychological suffering in the context of primary health care as a collective and institutional phenomenon, and not only an individual one. Although this occurs, there are also moments of pleasure and recognition of the work, especially on the part of colleagues and users of the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS). Furthermore, promoting the mental health of workers requires the creation of spaces for listening, recognition, and sharing, articulating theory, practice, and intervention. By valuing the experience of these workers and proposing a technical product for worker health care, this research contributes to strengthening public policies and more humanized institutional practices within the SUS (Brazilian Unified Health System), starting from the care for the mental health of these workers.</description>
